A traditional type of printing, lithographic (litho) printing uses wet inks and printing plates to produce large volumes of print.
Litho print is often used for printing books, catalogues and posters and other high-quality repeat items.
Here at White Star, our UV Komori uses instant drying technology. This means we can provide shorter turnaround times (as we don’t need to wait for natural drying) as well as a more vibrant, detailed print.
After the initial set-up, the unit cost of litho printing goes down as quantity goes up.
Due to instant drying technology, the print produced by a litho press is punchier and more vibrant.
Unlike digital presses, a litho press can print on a wider range of materials from letterhead papers to premium uncoated boards.
